One of the featured wineries is Adelsheim. Established in 1971, this family-owned and operated winery uses sustainable farming practices on their estate vineyards. Gentle, minimal handling has been the hallmark of Adelsheim Vineyard's wine making since their first vintage was produced in a cramped basement winery; utilizing a simple crusher and press, and 20 Burgundy barrels. Today, a cutting-edge facility at Calkins Lane Vineyard provides all the quality controls demanded by "hands-off" wine making. Adelsheim combines traditional and modern techniques to craft wines in a style that centers on elegance, complexity, and richness in flavor and texture. With its Mediterranean exterior and subterranean caves, the Archery Summit winery, like their wine, is an original expression of old-world aesthetics and new-world savvy. Designed from the ground up, actually, from below the ground, Archery Summit winery integrates classic architecture and technically advanced viticulture. Here you will learn about their 100 percent gravity-flow winemaking process while you savor what Wine Spectator has called the “Rolls Royce of Oregon Pinot”. At Sokol Blosser, winemaker Russ Rosner has more than ten years experience at Robert Mondavi and has conceptualized a Pinot Noir Single Block program highlighting the distinctiveness of barrels from different blocks of estate Pinot Noir. Sokol Blosser is committed to managing their vineyards and business in an environmentally responsible way, and has the prestige of being the nation's first winery to be awarded the LEED 2.0 Silver Level Certification by the US Green Building Council. The legacy of the land is alive at REX HILL. You can see the original tunnels into which the carts of drying racks were rolled, but you’ll also see the new tools of the trade: French oak and stainless steel barrels, wine presses, in-house laboratory and bottling line, temperature controlled fermentation and blending tanks, a state of the art cross-flow filter. Rex Hill not only practices biodynamic farming, but models sustainable practices with their employees, suppliers and community. Here’s to the rebirth of the Oregon family farm! Includes
